At Plexus 2024, accessible from www.gmcplexus.com, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our participants. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that are collected and recorded by Plexus 2024 and how we use it. If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us. This Privacy Policy applies only to our online activities and is valid for participants in our cultural event with regards to the information that they shared and/or collect in Plexus 2024. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.

By participating in our cultural event, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.

Information we collect 

The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information. If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message, and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide. When you register for an event, we may ask for your contact information, including items such as name, university name, address, email address, and telephone number.

How we use your information We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain our cultural event

  • Improve, personalize, and expand our event

  • Understand and analyse how you participate in our cultural event

  • Develop new features, and functionality for our event

  • Communicate with you, either directly or through one of our partners, including for customer service, to provide you with updates and other information relating to the event, and for marketing and promotional purposes

  • Send you emails

The
information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of
clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. 

The purpose of the information is for analysing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.


Cookies and Web Beacons
Like any other website, Plexus 2024 uses 'cookies'. These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing
our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information.

Plexus 2024 does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

TERMS & CONDITIONS (PLEXUS 2024) 

Our Agreement with You 1.1 Submission of your registration is an offer which will be acknowledged in writing by the PLEXUS 2024 ORGANIZING COMMITTEE (‘Us, Our, We’). Acceptance of the registration will only take place if so agreed by Us and not until receipt of cleared funds (if applicable) for the Cultural Event, and when We have specified this in writing. This will form the ‘Agreement’ between us.

Payment 2.1 Payment is to be made by credit or debit card, or any online means immediately. 2.2 Once payment of the fee has been received in full, and We have approved the registration, an email containing your registration details will be sent to you.

Your Obligations in relation to Cultural Event 3.1 You agree not to post or publish any content or material during any Event which: a) is threatening, libelous, defamatory, or obscene. b) would constitute, or encourage conduct that would constitute and/or incite a criminal offense or otherwise violate any laws in any manner. c) would infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third parties. d) contains any computer viruses or any other destructive element. e) contains any advertising or. f) constitutes or contains false or misleading statements.

Liabilities and Indemnities 4.1 Due to its inherent nature, you acknowledge that We are not liable or responsible for any delay, disruption, or disturbance in the operation of the Cultural Event. Similarly, you acknowledge that access to any of the Online Events may be interrupted due to telecommunication failures beyond Our control and/or downtime for any repairs, maintenance, or upgrading. 4.2 We do not represent or endorse the accuracy or reliability of any advice, opinion, statement, or other information displayed, uploaded, downloaded, or distributed through any of the Cultural Events provided by Us. You acknowledge that any reliance which you place upon any advice, statement, opinion, memorandum, or information shall be at your sole option, liability, and risk. 4.3 You agree and undertake to indemnify Us and hold us harmless from and against any liability, claim, action, demand, cost, loss, damage, or expense including but not limited to court costs, including those from third parties or liabilities of any kind, however suffered, arising or incurred during and/or after the Cultural Event as a consequence of: a) any unauthorized use of website material or contents, in any manner, whatsoever, whether by negligence or willful misconduct (either express or implied) or b) any infringement or improper use of any intellectual property rights arising from the use or misuse of any intellectual property owned by Us or any third party or c) any loss or damage which you cause at the Cultural Event. 4.5 You will need to comply, at all times, with the rules and regulations imposed by any venue or hotel. You will also need to ensure that you have your own insurances against any loss to your property you may suffer, or any loss or damage you may cause at the Cultural Event, venue, or hotels. You shall remain fully responsible for such loss or damage, and you shall indemnify and hold Us harmless against any claims.

Intellectual Property 5.1 All intellectual property rights, including copyright, in any of the Cultural Event material, including the Online Events, materials, logos, graphics, and any platform (whether delivered face to face or online) remain vested in the Cultural Event creators (whether that is Us or a third party). 5.2 Any copying, reproduction, distribution, republishing, downloading, reposting, or transmitting in any form or by any means, including but not limited to, electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording, or otherwise, of any Cultural Event material is strictly prohibited.

Events Outside of Our Control 6.1 It may be necessary for reasons beyond Our control to alter the content and timing of the Cultural Event, the identity of the speaker or the date or the venue. In the unlikely event of the Cultural Event being cancelled, we will refund you the registration fee, if applicable, but we will not be liable to you for any other costs or losses, whether direct or indirect. 6.2 Should We be unable to perform any obligations under this Agreement due to causes or circumstances beyond Our reasonable control, including any Act of God, war or threatened war, terrorism or threatened terrorism, fire, epidemic or pandemic, flood, drought, strike, lockout, or actions of the venue/hotels, We will not be liable to you for this.
